That the one superhero who has, ON SCREEN, IN CANON:
- Defended a woman’s bodily autonomy on her terms with no indication of wanting to hit on her
- Spoke up for the needs of the poor and disenfranchised
- Commented meaningfully on the importance of the press and what they choose to cover
- Sees the humanity of criminals and demands they be treated humanely.
- Submitted willingly to government demands out of true concern for the fear and well-being of the people
- Missed out on opportunities due to a need to save innocents
- Spent his childhood reading philosophy to try and figure out the best use of what power he had
- Expresses understandable fears and doubts about his actions and seeks outside advice from friends, family, AND even strangers.
- Literally gave himself up for a people who immediately turned him over to his enemies
- Later gave up his life for those same people
- Spends most of his movies desperately worried about the safety/well being of either his personal relations OR the people of the world
- Couldn’t stay in one place longer than a few months most of his adult life because he had to save people when something invariably happened
- Regularly calls/checks in with his mother
- Buys flowers for his girlfriend just BECAUSE

People hate that Superman has feelings. He’s not allowed to feel sad or be philosophical or introverted because he’s a boy scout, the american Icon that is full of hope and always smiling. If he’s not happy and smiling all the time, he’s “not my Superman”.
