Started re-reading 1632 again. I’ve read it almost as many times as The Silmarillion by now.
And for a book that’s almost twenty years old- parts of the politics are scary in how much they echo. (Time displaced rural American town with a strong union presence gets dumped into the early years of the Thirty Years War in Europe. The key election conflict in the middle of the book is all about immigration policy and voter enfranchisement.)
