it just snowed in south texas for the first time since 2004 and everyone’s losing their goddamn minds it wasn’t even an inch deep it was like 0.1 inches but our weather is almost always in the high 80’s year around I’m always sweating my ass off so no one fucking kill my excitement with a “oh haha that’s like summer in chicago” because I DO NOT care some of us have never seen snow in our lives and I’m nuttin rn and I built a shitty fucking snowman

jsyk…my shitty snowman looks like hello kitty on a pregnant woman’s body… do u want to see

As a Chicagoan, I really wanna see this legendary Texas snowman

hhaeurrrggghhhh….it’s me, howdy kotter…..and I’m 37 months overdue

Merry crisis from SE Texas

Raw South Texas Power

Mine looks kind of like a cryptid but is it still acceptable?

I can’t believe someone else on my dash reblogged this and not me.

And no, I did not go out and build a snowman. But a lot of the kids did.

Well, you are just fantastic. You write stories…

I definitely think you’re a great friend! And I don’t think you’re nasty at all, as salty as I am at least, so if u r nasty then so am I ^^ my brother from across the sea!

I don’t think of it as a defining personality trait of mine – my vices definitely trend towards inconsiderateness and selfishness Big time. Not naive enough to think that there isn’t more than a few people who dislike me or my fannish options or how I express them -but I more readily believe I am just beneath most fans’ considerations or radars. I’m still surprised that people outside of my long-time mutuals actually read and enjoy my Silm fic.

The most amusing thing about this Teleri vibe we have is that going off of who loves the trees more, and who has to live near the ocean, is that I cannot claim to be the Eglath. I should be Olwë, not Elu or Elmo. ;p

There’s snow across the border in Tamaulipas.

Yeah, New England, come fetch your weather. It got lost.

New England, here in Massachusetts we’re gonna get 6 six inches over tomorrow (Sat Dec 9): so our Winter is present and accounted for!

Anybody lose some snow? Maine? Newfoundland?

Where is Tamaulipas (looks at map). Geez, sorry, that’s fucked up! Is is snowing in ALL REALITIES?

I have some spare snow shovels you can borrow; only 3250 miles to come! Drive carefully, it’s winter 🙂

I used to live in Newport, RI and Annapolis, MD and had cousins we’d visit for Christmas who lived in Oxbridge, MA (military brat, if you were wondering about the moves). So yeah, unlike my youngest sibling, I was used to snow growing up. And my parents were one of the only houses that had a snow shovel back 13 years ago when we got snow in South Texas for the first time in over a hundred years (and my dad relished shoveling that half-inch of snow off the driveway) But down here, yeah this is actual subtropics. Unless they are snowbirds down from Canada or moved in from somewhere else like my family, no one has seen snow before in their life.

Yeah, Tamaulipas is the Mexican state directly across from where I live – it’s actually a shorter distance to the border than it is to Houston. And going strictly by latitude, where I live is basically the same, perhaps a little further south, as Orlando, Florida. In fact, it has snowed in Orlando more times than it has where I live.

My banana tree has snow on it.

I find this actually quite fascinating. I live in Australia. This concept of “snow” you talk about, it’s very perculiar. And that it can fall in the subtropics….. is also quite strange.

I think you’d be okay- snow is I think one of those strange inflictions that only happen to Kiwis

Well, you are just fantastic. You write stories that are meaningful to you and no matter how little I know about the characters you write, I feel their pain and joy as surely as if they were my best friends. Your sigils are PERFECT and I use them so often as art inspiration. And you are nice and kind and good! I’m glad to have found you :D /// Relatedly: Do you also swing dance???

I can’t dance worth a brass nickel, and I only attempt to do that weird beginner’s sway rarely when I am completely alone – and maybe only one out over every six or seven times I would feel like dancing. But I love to watch dancing videos and competitions.

I love my characters, and while I’m definitely not one of those authors that sits down with my OCs and maps out all their personalities (or even basic major personality traits), let alone all their details, they still feel like real characters/I want and hope they do. And that I can make readers connect and cry over them. 😀

Aaah~ I hope that the image of myself that other people perceive is someone who isn’t nasty, too particularity two-faced (I struggle with the fact that I wish to be both very secretive, and incredibly honest – I am a shit liar. My self-awareness is limited enough to know I have hypocrisies), and supportive and welcoming. I don’t think I’m a great friend – but I try to be a good one. *shrug*

Found the old PaintPro cd – I can make no promises but I want to get back into sigil making next year.

Oh no! Someone SAVE THE BANANNAS. Maybe little yellow sweaters! (Newport & Annapolis, sounds like the Navy! My unc did 20 as a CPO)

YEP! Both parents (and various uncles, grandfathers, a great-grandfather or two). If you know all the stateside Naval Aviation bases, then my childhood history is easy to track

Technically the banana tree is on the property on the other side of the fence, but it leans over. No bananas right now, and I harvested the limes off the potted Mexican lime tree last month. Not to so we don’t get out-of-season fruit during normal winters with balmy 70-80 degree weather…
