Watching the Weather Channel for the last hour- bitter laughter as the storm is heading directly to Corpus Christi, yet even now all the tv crews and pictures on-screen are showing everywhere else but Corpus. Galveston and San Antonio and Victoria- but not going down to our beaches or anything about us. Honestly not that surprised.

Got a little bit of rain for a few minutes. Come Friday night I know the rain will start in earnest. Still not concerned, though am fully expecting to lose power over the weekend and Monday, if not into Tuesday and Wednesday. They closed the school districts and I haven’t gone to the store to check how crowded it is, though I can just imagine how bad it is in-town and over on the islands and Rockport. I do hope everyone out in Aransas Pass and out on the barrier island are evacuating, though I’m not and nobody in my area is, that I know of.
I’ll update y’all over what happens/if I lose power. It looks more and more certain that Harvey (Hurricane now, maybe up to a cat 3) will hit just north of Corpus. Frankly better us than Houston- as terrible as the flooding and drainage issues for our downtown roads are, compared to Houston and the much denser and just gigantic population, better that CC take this bullet than H-town.
Yes, it looks like Tropical Storm Harvey is going to hit where I live -or maybe a little to the north- and I am a bad person because the fucks I give, they are none. Estimated 40 inches of rain and storm surge and yeah…meh.

Write Self-Indulgences!” of if someone really wants to read about Findis debating with her platonic soulmate about how many characters to have in this band -three isn’t enough but twelve is too many; do we go with nine or down to five?

Or that Aunt Ravennë and Grandma Mahtamë are huge fans, especially of ‘Shiro’, and Ravennë ships him with the princess like she was the head of the Shallura fan club. (’They can’t look too much like orcs. ..Let’s just color them purple. And small fangs.’) Ban is appalled that the pet cat belongs to one of the bad guys.

so i was in a music store today and they were playing heavy metal music
specifically, heavy metal covers of the star wars soundtrack
let me tell you, there’s something about hearing a heavy metal rendition of the cantina band music that makes you feel like you’re having an out-of-body experience
so people have asked to hear it and y’all are lucky that i managed to snag a look at the cd on the counter (they display the one they’re playing)
