mood: i want to read a story exactly like one of my favorite stories i’ve read a thousand times but not THAT story because i’ve read it a thousand times and i want to read a new one but it should be exactly like this one.
Writing connecting tissue for finishing up a chapter. Realize have written what now requires leading into more scenes as to make the progression of characters into the chronological next part of the scene make any sense. This will add on probably at least half of page more onto this chapter.

Trying to rapidly finish the ‘Of Ingwë’ chapter, trying to remember my rudimentary riding skills and especially bareback riding. Groaning because either this chapter or the next I have to figure out how little I can get away with an in-depth step by step ‘How to Break a Horse for Novices’.
Tata and Enel are still waiting around for some actual on-screen introductions.
So much of the The Last Jedi criticisms I have difficulty deciding if I agree with or not, in part because I also strongly dislike The Force Awakens.
I prefer Rey!Random. I prefer a firmly chose the Dark Side Ben Solo/Kylo Ren – but I think a lot of my problems with his character are the choice to give a barely (hah!) supported Snoke brainwashing explanation for his choice, then never satisfactory explain where Snoke came from or the Ben Snoke connection, making the whole thing ring as the flimsiest of excuses and probably why his character is so decisive – I don’t 100% agree with all the reasons people hate him, but I firmly agree with their hate. Have we seen his fellow Knights of Ren for more than a blink and you miss half second? You’d think that might be an important element to this entire narrative they’d halfassed written. Finn’s character arc was truncated and sacrificed for other characters when he was the ONLY character I found refreshing. The weird overreliance on nostalgia for the OT (reset Han and Chewie to the start of ANH and pretend his character development is gone. Luke has to be like Yoda and Obi-wan.) the in-universe idolization and emphasis for the character mythos that felt more like bleed over from pop culture instead of in universe … hard to explain, but like Kylo’s emphasis on this Skywalker legacy as if it paralleled a princely line, when we don’t even know if in universe just from the films how widespread Vader’s real name/relation to Luke/act of sacrificial atonement is, but it’s treated like common knowledge and ignores that Anakin Skywalker was a nobody slave from nowhere and Luke for all anyone knew was a nobody too. But also the new films removing the familiar aliens and how very small the universe now feels. The lack of impact from the FIVE solar systems destroyed, even worse the lack of the same w the StarKiller base. Rey has to know ‘Luke redeemed Vader’ independently for her motivation in TLJ to make sense, so was that just very common galactic knowledge also known on Jakku? The whole Holdo thing I’ve ranted about elsewhere.
The number of Plasma scenes cut.
How cheap and fake the CGI looks. The stuff from 1999 is more convincing.
That I was a hardcore SW fan, and I have no desire to watch TFA a third time or TLJ a second, when I would rewatch all six of the previous movies sometimes once a week.
There are some damn weird choices here -and it has both Imin and Ingwë. The pair ups can be very odd too. And Weird totals so far- I am amused that some of my favs are soundly beating some fandom favs, but for instance, Lúthien is criminally under-picked. And having Aegnor and Angrod on the same bracket was cruel.
So you know, my final match-up is Elu Thingol vs Ingwë and Elwing vs Lúthien and I can’t choose further.
