Never have I ever written modern AU fic đŸ‘€

Okay, this thing right here is halfway to a fic already, because I adore fluffy minimum angst ASoIaF Stark Family AUs. Now what else might I turn around and make a modern AU (which, idk- I only read SF and Fantasy and historical fiction and blends of the three with added murder mysteries unless you count AU fanfics and even then~) …the fluffy Second Age Red Band stuff is using modern stuff as inspiration, so that cast would be easiest to plop into a modern AU, but it loses some of its charm and appeal. Nah. The “Jeyne is pregnant” fic is it.

I said I’m sorry! And I’m working on that fluffy Findis and Heledir Write Voltron fic as we speak.

Hey out of the forty or more silm fics that I have written, only a quarter of those hinge on a major character death at the end or beginning. I think. IDK my math. Hey, this is the Silmarillion fandom

Beren carried dead men’s names, the names of comrades that had left him behind. Not by choice, but what difference in the end? He alone had been there to pick up those burdens. He lived then, even though he had not desired to. He should have joined them, the names he carried in a solo dirge. The memories had driven him to his knees some days, made him curl in abandoned fox dens and weep, willed the coldness to seep into his bones and stop his thoughts, that he was singing what should have been a choir. Other days the rage and sorrow gave him the determination to climb after the enemy. His had been the only voice that remained to speak those names, to sing their deeds against the great foe and preserve their glory, to recall their joys and sorrows, and to carry on their defiance against the enemy with all his monsters and orcs. In battle Beren had called their names. In the silence of a dying forest he had whispered them. For two years Beren had carried the weight of twelve dead men: of doughty Dagnir and Ragnor, Radhruin, Dairuin and Gildor, Gorlim and Urthel, Arthad and Hathaldir, his cousins Belegund and Baragund, and his father Barahir. Kin and comrades, and all had died, leaving but Beren to survive.

Another twelve now, and this time, waiting for the last wolf to come, Beren knew he would not linger on alone. Pulling back the hand covered in Finrod’s blood, Beren waited and began to compose his song. A new list of names, ones just as dear, and like before only Beren left behind to recall their names. Of doughty Arodreth and Ethirdor, Aglar, Consael and Heledir, Tacholdir and Bân, Gadwar and Fân, Edrahil, and his king Felagund.

AWWW omg I love this!
I love the vibe between them hahahaha they sound super comfortable with each other (and sliiiiiightly flirty but i might have imagined it hahaha)

Thanks! Writing more right now (if I can remember everything I’ve brainstormed as I take my shower). The flirtiness started with describing the opening position, and I threw my hands up and told myself to run with it. Gonna see how far I can push it without going into actual intentional sexual interest and interaction because I have this very clear idea of what Findis and Heledir’s feelings are, but not sure on the correct labels. But Heledir is someone that loves the idea of romance in other people and gets invested in fictional couples as well as those of his friends and acquaintances – he’s a hardcore shipper – but he doesn’t want to date. Very close friends with Edrahil and others, and has a strong appreciation for aesthetics and beauty – for example he loves the sound quality of Findis’s voice. And there is this knight and his lady devotion to his interactions with her, because he met her as a young teenage boy and she was this very mature but withdrawn beautiful woman secreted away in a library who he could bring gifts to and cheer her up, because she didn’t have many friends or companions and still isolating herself on reflex because of the nastiness she faced as a child of this second marriage. And he loves her imagination and prose. So it’s a very supportive friendship, but at most their feelings might be romantic/platonic – they don’t touch or cuddle but if they were ever pressed to marry, they’d marry each other. In comparison, my Indis/Nerdanel head-canons are definitely that those two are romantic/do romantic gestures for each other as well as this patronage relationship.

“wait and bleed” omg heget I’m 14 again now!! Used to love that song ahaha

Ye~UP. Some of my nostalgic music is Ace of Base and Backstreet Boys. Some of it is Sublime, System of a Down, Pantera. Some Alice in Chains, but I didn’t like them half as much as Soundgarden. There are some Metallica and Black Sabbath songs I love, and some I absolutely loathe. Like any high-schooler in the early 2000s I owned both albums from Linkin Park. My tastes are pretty typical, I guess, but I think what I post and reblog makes it seem narrower than it is.

asgdetrjnek HEGET it’s your birthday!! I’ve been on sick leave and not checking my calendar so I forgot x_x My friend!! Happy birthday!! It’s been a shitty shitty year, but what a joy to at least share it with you :’) I wish you all the good things, my dear!

And I sincerely hope you feel better soon!

Harvey derailed my birthday plans and any feelings for a strong celebration – but at least it also meant I got the day off, so honestly I took a nap most of the day. 😀

so glad i stopped watching GoT years ago but the…

Yep, I start wondering if maybe Grrm isn’t like, waiting for the show to end to release the books or something :p

Honestly wouldn’t be surprised. Like, okay I have problems with the writing in ASOIAF and that’s why it’s not a series I’ve read all the books or want to- but in sheer magnitude and scale of writing flaws the show is soo terrible, especially when it comes to cliches of the genre. Which, I like to read cliched epic fantasy; I like a lot of those cliches and stock character/plot threads just as much as I dislike some. And ASoIaF embraces more genre cliches than seems with its status as this masterful deconstruction of the genre. But to hear about some of the decisions the show is choosing -like with Jon Snow Stark Targaryen- frankly schadenfreude is the only proper response.

“exactly in character” qhdhjahaid I Laughed

The more I started writing about ‘hey this is horse theft, wait I know because of Wild West and Welsh and English medieval laws that that is huge no-no because here’s the logic for why this shit was worse than normal theft or regular murder – oh wait. This is also why I get so enraged when people aren’t appropriately outraged at the murder and theft of the Swanships and why objectively on impact to the victims of said crime the stealing of the Swanships was a hell of a lot worse than stealing the Silmarils.’

Look, do you believe Fëanor “I must stop my half-brothers from following me” wouldn’t be petty enough/planning ahead to make sure to steal their horses too?
