Submitted willingly to government demands out of true concern for the fear and well-being of the people
Missed out on opportunities due to a need to save innocents
Spent his childhood reading philosophy to try and figure out the best use of what power he had
Expresses understandable fears and doubts about his actions and seeks outside advice from friends, family, AND even strangers.
Literally gave himself up for a people who immediately turned him over to his enemies
Later gave up his life for those same people
Spends most of his movies desperately worried about the safety/well being of either his personal relations OR the people of the world
Couldn’t stay in one place longer than a few months most of his adult life because he had to save people when something invariably happened
Regularly calls/checks in with his mother
Buys flowers for his girlfriend just BECAUSE

People hate that Superman has feelings. He’s not allowed to feel sad or be philosophical or introverted because he’s a boy scout, the american Icon that is full of hope and always smiling. If he’s not happy and smiling all the time, he’s “not my Superman”.
