Praise is too kind~
I remember that Brides of Death/Gift of Men was written in one sitting and the longest part was going through wikipedia tabs, and yet it still remains one of my best fics; it’s sort of unfair. 😉

Answered #4, so go for the really salty questions!
3. Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion?
I’ve not followed people because of the amount of Maedhros or Fëanorians in general they had on their blog, and yes, did unfollow Silm fandom people because of it (not many). Won’t call out who.
In a similar vein, I started listening to a podcast but immediately stopped and deleted that podcast because the main host proudly admitted to being one of those people that called in to vote for Jason Todd’s death back in the 80s. That is an insta-unfollow for me, like unironically thinking Fëanor was right to steal the Swanships (or anything else)
4. Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?*
Oh, let me make a hand-motion over my mouth. Okay. Fingon/Maedhros -the most popular OTP in the Silm fandom- only escapes from being a NoTP from me because I low-key despise both of them (yes, both). Most of the other non-canon m/m slash ships I tend to not care about but also don’t care enough about the characters to care, i.e. Angbang, Silverfisting. Haleth/Caranthir is popular and is a NoTP.
Batfam I don’t ship Dickbabs, and it’s nearly inescapable in general Batfam focused fics. It’s a rare but precious to me fic that goes with Dickkory instead. Aside from that, I hate SuperWonder, but also SuperBats and WonderBat. All three are popular, but only Superman/WonderWoman is not as popular and gets routinely and rightfully hated by the larger fandom.
10. shortest wip of the year
As in which wip has the least amount done? Probably Gadwar’s story aka #10 on the Band of the Red Hand. It’s officially more than a paragraph. Barely.
21. most memorable comment/review
Oookay. I don’t get many reviews or comments on my fic (small fandom, not a bnf, not writing the popular characters or ships), but I did receive some reviews this year and thus so many were memorable (and got to interact with new fans and readers! hello, @chestnut-filly and @sindefara, for example) I got a lot of thoughtful and kind comments, lots of readers documenting tears and how much I made them sad (of which I crowed over like I was Morgoth, I admit) Having multiple people review that Consael’s story made them re-evaluate and appreciate Beren is the one that makes me personally proud, and related to that getting a rec from Dawn Felagund was nicely ego-stroking if unexpected. (I may have lurked and read Dawn’s work on LJ back before SWG was even a thing, but we don’t interact as fans or in the same circles and honestly I don’t have an interest in doing so)
…okay, honesty? You want true honesty? Any time I got a comment complimenting Fingon in something I wrote. Followers know why.
@crocordile tagged me and using her rules for tagging others 😉
Color(s) I’m currently wearing: dark blue jeans, a very colorful plaid shirt: white, coral-red, purple, light blue, dark green. Bright pink and white plaid knee-socks
Last band t-shirt I bought: I don’t buy band shirts. Fandom shirts, sure (Aquaman and Mera, Justice League, Spirited Away), but never band
Last band I saw live: …three years ago I visited my sister who lives in Austin during the beginning of SXSW and went to a venue and i can’t tell you the names of any of the bands who were playing that night except Elijah Wood (yes, that one) DJ’ing for a few sets (he wasn’t good)
Last song I listened to: “Never Let You Down” – Woodkid
Lipstick or Chapstick: Lip gloss. Easier to apply than lipstick
Last movie I watched: The Santa Clause was on tv while I was wrapping presents this afternoon. If that doesn’t count, I started watching the beginning of Under the Red Hood a few nights ago to try to cheer myself up
Last three TV shows I watched: in the middle of trying to finish watching the DCCW 4-show crossover from last week (it’s terrible). Before that was watching Fixer-Upper (HGTV home renovation show). Days before…Runaways
Last three characters I identified with: yeah nope’ing out of this question

1) How many works in progress do you currently have?
Well, that matters on if the “Rose Red” stuff is two stories, up to four or five. Then Release from Bondage, Of Ingwë, the other three Band of the Red Hand, Findis writes Voltron, Faron and friends in Valinor during the 2nd Age fluff fic(s)…. Let’s say I have somewhere around ten works in progress, be it only a few sentences up to half-finished chapters.
2) Do you/would you write fanfiction?
Yes. Almost exclusively Silm for pure fanfic; the other fandoms get shoved into borderline original fiction
3) Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?
Both. I read series where it’s more convenient to have them on a kindle, but I still love paperbacks. Even my comics I have a mix of both.
4) When did you start writing?
Twelve. wrote almost 99 pages of a fantasy story about pegasi riders, each chapter written with a different colored gel pen appropriate to that chapter’s pov character.
5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?
I post to tumblr and AO3, so yeah. In general my mutuals; I’d trust any of y’all as betas even if I rarely request one. Nobody outside of my internet circle, however.
6) Where is your favourite place to write?
Home computer.
7) Favorite childhood book?
Anne of Green Gables, followed by The Secret Garden
8) Writing for fun or publication?
FUN
9) Pen and paper or computer?
Computer more often, but I still write using a pencil and paper sometimes when at work.
10) Have you ever taken any writing classes?
No and never desired to
11) What inspires you to write?
I love these characters and they need more love and attention. Here’s a fun AU, let’s make a fusion to change their setting. Also, spite.
That’s such a nice title, I need to use it for multiple things. But hmm, as a shippy fic?
Weirdly I think this could be a good title for a fic set during the Great Journey, because of the many crossing or lingering by great rivers, with the sea as the end goal. Unfortunately I can’t pick a perfect couple out of my cast of canon, OCs, and OCs in all but name with their textual ghost wives. Of the Sindar, weirdly I think I would have my best chance using Eöl’s parents, Eglath princess Egnith and her Noldor who stayed husband “Bao”. The river and sea pair-up could also work for the variation I want to do on Edrahil and Maiwë inspired by The Leithian Script.
Or for predictable tooth-rotting fluff utterly devoid of any plot, Arodreth and Alphen reborn in Alqualondë or Tol Eressëa, complaining about the rose garden in their seaside villa, aggressively parenting the rest of the reborn/returned comrades from Beleriand
Had to think about this. There could be a good Dior and Nimloth fic with a bit of that King George VI and Queen Elizabeth vibe, in that Dior was the son of Princess Lúthien but it wasn’t like anyone was expecting Thingol to die and the crown of Doriath to pass to him. I’d argue if Dior even knew, as in truly understood, he was royalty during his childhood. Then he’s thrust into this role and Nimloth thrust into the position previously held by an actual goddess.
Alternatively, pun route with Galadriel ‘maiden crowned by radiance’ and we have a comedy about Celeborn quietly trying to court Galadriel in his own way and his friends and family either trying to help or hinder his efforts (and which is which doesn’t match the intentions)
“Feanorians, we know,” Faron interrupted. “Always them, whenever news came to Angband of elves killed and cities destroyed when Morgoth wasn’t to blame. Made him happy, the Dark Lord and his Balrogs. Laughed about it.”
1. What are some writing tics that persist in your work but that you dislike?
Epithets. Omission or awkward clauses. Typos. That tic of peppering in non-English terms that immediately pegs me as a reader of anime/manga fanfic in the early 2000s even if I’m doing the equivalent with Sindarin/Quenya instead. I don’t have distinct voices for different characters/narrative tone.
6. What’s your guilty pleasure as a writer?
Obscure allusions and private jokes hidden in name meanings (Four is Death so lets call this random OC Kanatië thus implied of the paired set with Kanat aka Number Four)
Fusions! Where I try to bury the characters and plot parallels of the inspiration work so anyone looking for a crossover will be disappointed, but the appeal is the fusion/crossover elements’ integration so I can’t divorce it.
7. Be honest: are you mean to your faves, or do you go easy on them?
Okay, to be honest, I purposely picked out some no-name given plot devices would existed only to die and decided I will make several stories about y’all and make people care about them. Some of that blame is on me, but only because of the initial choice. And my AU Theon and Jeyne don’t go through as terrible shit as they do in canon, I think, but only because the bar was so low. That fluffy modern AU needs to be a proper fic so I can balance the metaphorical books. So moving on from the Red Band-
Ummm…okay like I feel I…for Elu…I’m sympathetic to him, very sympathetic, so I’m trying to make the reader relate and appreciate him. I wrote angst Aegnor/Andreth stuff, but I also have two comedy AU where they get a better than canon fate OTP fix-fic, so that balances, right? ….Ingwë. Yeah I can’t dodge that shit. I love my Ingwë and it’s coming from a position of making a good appealing story, but he is fully entitled to rage against the author there. So, yes, I am more mean than nice. And characters I hate, if they show up, I am not making more than a token effort to be unbiased.
