F.A. 457: Orodreth arrives in NargothrondI’m never sure if prefer to imagine Orodreth’s face when he finally gets to Nargo and finds Finrod playing patty cake with the kinslayers, OR him knowing about their stay there from the start, bc communication wasn’t cut between the two places, and just finally deciding their company might be less horrible than Sauron’s 😂😂
“We’re going to Nargothrond,” Orodreth said, gazing out at
broken trees and the werewolf acting as an arrow pincushion that graced the view
from his front gates. “Eru, I hope Finrod has finally realized that Curufin is
about as trustworthy as yonder lord of werewolves.”“My lord…”
“Don’t say it, I know he will have not realized that. He
still thinks we can all be friends if we just try hard enough – at least
Maedhros and Fingon search Curufin’s bags for anything suggestive of a plot
before they let him lose!”“Yes, my lord.”
Orodreth snapped his quill in half as he considered who his
new neighbors would be. “I really have no idea if Sauron or those two will be
the first to get us all killed – knowing Finrod, he’ll somehow manage to fall
victim to both, because he can’t stop promising to help people.”“Indeed.”
“Fine. Just fine. Get everybody and everything we can take,
and we’ll leave now. At least somebody will be there to point out what went
wrong when letting Curufin in causes everything to all go to pieces, again.”

Notes:
For my favorite set of Finwions, making sigils for them was a royal pain. Suffice to say, my difficulties with designing and crafting these sigils mean I’m not as happy with the end result as some of the other endeavors. Still, they work well for my purposes.
The color scheme for the offspring of Finarfin take their cues from the only Tolkien Original for any of them that I have to work with: Finrod Felagund’s sigil, made after he discovered the Edain, and obviously something constructed by humans instead of elves.
