Quick question – names in Primitive Elvish throughout or that unholy mix like the rest of the Ingwë fic? (Elwë or Elwê, basically. Because if I type Elwë, then I should for consistency’s sake fix the Belekô to Beleg, or vice versa. Nowë stays, however. He ain’t Círdan yet, no matter the most well-known name issue) ?

Remember I said while working on Ingwë of Cuiviénen I periodically switched gears to work on the little side stories narrated by Imin or Elwë? Probably not. Imin’s two ficlets are staying nice and short one-shots (okay, the second one by chronology has been finished and done for a year). But this Elwë one? Yeah no. It won’t stop growing.
Still don’t know the best way to incorporate them into the main story, besides the fact that they need to.
Birthday this Saturday. Thinking of what to post as a little celebration gift for everyone.
Warning myself, no new silm fics until I finish the two I have open in front of me.
Also annoyed that I can’t find my paperback copy of The Dreeson Incident, though going by the official recommended reading order, I still need to get through volumes III and IV of the Gazettes, the second Ring of Fire anthology, and The Cannon Law (which combined with the cover wins for best pun) before Dreeson. Which, anyway Dreeson’s the point (discounting keeping track of the short stories) where my memory isn’t as fresh on all the plot developments, having not re-read them multiple times. Quite a few of these later books are more like spin-offs focused on regions outside the main story (Kremlin Games for instances) anyway, so i don’t need to be 100% caught up.
Young Bucks of Cuiviénen writing woes
Editing ‘Of Ingwë Ingweron’, because I can’t stay on one project at a time and parts of it looking back are clunky or need expansion and hoping that if I work at it, I’ll finally get over my block and finish the thing. Also wondering if to take the short stories written and planned and insert them as interludes? Aside from the two Imin centered pieces (the finished one would make a perfect postscript perspective flip to the eventual chapter on Ingwë’s accession), right after the first chapter would make a good place to put the first meeting of Elwë with Finwë and then the two of them to Ingwë. All these oddball stories not big enough for long stand-alones, but needing the context of the more aloof-viewpoint overall story/history. But then that might be too weird? Go back to the original plan of separate stories, the main and the drabble collection?
Gah, I don’t know.
Ugh, so I have no idea if I’m still going on the Colorado trip. I’d rather not, to be honest, but I should probably still pack a suitcase in-case I get an call that yes we need to scramble and I am going and geez this is why last minute volunteered by third party I don’t mind helping out but have it finalized and *sigh*
And re-reading fic because I need to finish WIPs and write the side-pieces and sequels and cross-posting them and I’m re-reading ‘Of Ingwë’ and hating it.
Wondering if i should try to post my Silm fics to SWG or
an additional archive?
Wish I had a good bribe for a beta.
Feel like going back and doing something with the sigils, it’s been so long. Not sure what, if anything is left to do anyway, aside from a few OCs from recent fic projects.
There’s always animated family trees to make, I guess.
Ugh, writing summary and notes for the Bledda in Dór-lomin ficlet is hard. I hate writing summaries to begin with, but this one takes the cake.
At least I expanded the vignette a little bit – though it could probably use a full expansion, at which point it’d be the whole ‘Adventures of Captain Stuffed-shirt, the Blond Yokels, and this Poor Mortal of the People of Bór as They Raise a Daughter and Fight in the War of Wrath’. And gave it a proper title (Revenant) and decided Middle-earth could totally still have changeling mythology.
and if I ever do get a summary written, i still have to pick tags…
