Ok, so I did another one of @squirrelwrangler ’s silmarillion sigils, that of Andreth, wise woman of the House of Beor, Finrod’s philosophy friend in the Athrabeth and Aegnor’s beloved.
I did the flowers a little more true to life than in the original design, I hope that is forgivable and did the holding stitches in blue, because I wanted all of Beor’s colours and it looks a bit like rain, even though it breaks the symmetry.
The flower are wisteria, which are a little poisonous but stand for devotion or welcoming. And can’t you imagine a wisteria tree in front of Andreth’s house in Dorthonion in a garden of fruit and vegetables and Finrod knocks on her door one day and is like ‘i ate this purple flower just now and I have really bad stomach ache’ and Andreth just shaking her head because… elves really?

One of heget’s original elven heraldric devices for Amarië of the Vanyar, loved by Finrod Felagund. It’s such a simple but beautiful design.
Since this is put in a lozenge and not a circle, I take this as a family symbol for Amarie’s family as a whole. I’m pretty sure I’m going to do another one in a circle with a little more true to life flowers. I guess some sort of wildflowers but idk which ones yet.
The background took the longest. Some nice concentric circles.

Ereinion Gil-galad, Eärendil

Notes:

Two Tolkien Originals today.

Eärendil on the right has the solely vertical symmetry of human sigils (look at the moon phases). In the center is the Star of the Silmaril, which is different from the version on the Doors of Moria, which is supposed to be the Fëanorian Silmaril  star- which gets annoying because there are several different renditions of ‘star’ or ‘Silmaril as star’ even on Fëanor’s sigil that I just end up using which star fits the design. The blues are good for the ocean, and better as the upper airs of the atmosphere. Like the device for his mother, Idril, there are actually 12 points along the perimeter of the circle, though you could argue none touch the edges of the logenze.

Speaking of which, then we have Ereinion Gil-galad, nicknamed such for the glittering stars on his shield and of which his sigil envokes. 8 of them touching the edges, twelve in total, as befitting a king. And Reason #3 I personally place Gil-galad as Fingon’s son is that the blue and silver of this sigil matches Fingolfin and kin, not Finarfin and kin. Other two reasons involve Finduilas.

Finduilas Faelivrin

Notes:

Only one today, but it’s Finduilas Faelivrin of Nargothrond. My Hufflepuff Princess. The banner to match her sigil is this. I do like her, and think she’s not shallow or weak. Her (love) life is tragic. Oh honey, back away from the dark and mysterious man with the talking sword. Finduilas is a maiden of courty affection stuck in a love triangle, and she’s doomed to a horrible death, but at least she exits the story before the incest.

Her sigil takes the golds, light yellows and green, and some of the white of her father Orodreth, while the basic structure like the central piece and art nouveau flower element comes from her Sindarian mother’s side. It’s a large pink flower, seemingly delicate but not. Princess Pretty-Reflection.
